Glue Leikonat (ТU 2473-002-36733310-98, ТU 6-14-95-85, ТU 6-14-95-01, ТU 6-14-95-2014)
Polyisocyanate adhesive is a kind of polyurethane adhesive.
COMPOSITION: Glue Leukonat according to TU 2473-002-36733310-98 (or TU 6-14-95-85, TU 6-14-95-2014) is a solution of 4,4',4''-triphenylmethane triisocyanate in dichloroethane.
INSTRUCTIONS for the use of Leukonat glue:
(The following recommendations for gluing were developed by NIIRP (Moscow) and are detailed in the methodological instructions of this institute under the number I-9-4-65.)
The process of bonding rubber with metals includes three stages:
- sample surface preparation,
- applying glue
- curing of the adhesive and exposure of the glued products under pressure.
Gluing should be carried out in a room equipped with general supply and exhaust ventilation at a relative humidity in the working room not higher than 60%.
The strength of the bond strongly depends on the degree of preparation of the bonded surfaces.
METAL PREPARATION
Before gluing, metal parts are sandblasted, steel and brass parts are washed with gasoline after sandblasting. Duralumin after sand treatment is subjected to anodic oxidation in sulfuric acid.
RUBBER PREPARATION
Rubber must be freshly rolled. Before attaching to the metal, the rubber is wiped with a napkin soaked in gasoline-galosh and dried in air for 10-15 minutes.
GLUE APPLICATION AND VULCANIZATION
Glue is applied only to metal surfaces (glue is not applied to rubber surfaces) using a brush, roller or swab.
After applying the adhesive, the parts are dried for 30-40 minutes at a temperature of 18-30°C or 10-30 minutes at a temperature of 30-45°C, then kept in an oven for 1 hour at a temperature of 150°C.
After this time, the samples are cooled and coated twice with glue, drying after each application for 30 minutes at 18-30°C or 10-30 minutes at 30-45°C.
Then the glued parts are connected and subjected to hot vulcanization in a press for 30 minutes at a temperature of 145°C.
REFERENCE: It is impossible to withstand glue for more than 4 hours, as it decomposes from air moisture. The curing of the adhesive occurs at the temperatures of rubber vulcanization (150-155°C).
*** It is allowed to apply one thin layer of glue for less responsible gluing.
Then it is dried for 30-40 minutes. Apply the adhesive indoors at a temperature of (22±2)ºC and a relative humidity of not more than 65%.
Vulcanization is carried out in a mold at a temperature of (143±3)ºC and a pressure of 25 kgf/cm2 for 30 minutes for 3826C rubber and 20 minutes for 9-2959 rubber.
Bonded parts must be stressed no earlier than 6 hours after vulcanization.
GUARANTEED STORAGE LIFE 18 months in a tightly closed container at a temperature of 5 to 20°C in a dark, dry place.
PACKAGING: 1,1 kg
for a strong connection of metals (steel, cast iron, aluminum and its alloys, bronze, brass, duralumin; a less durable connection is obtained with copper, magnesium and its alloys)
and unvulcanized rubbers from butadiene-nitrile, chloroprene and natural rubbers with their subsequent vulcanization,
- as a primer when applying an anti-corrosion rubber coating to steel;
- as a vulcanizing agent (hardener) in cold curing rubber adhesives.
It is used in the production of bushings of silent blocks, shock absorbers, when rubberizing chemical-resistant equipment, rubberizing shafts, etc.
